Brief introduction of Mines of Sijua Area:
MUDIDIH COLLIERY:
It has one Underground pumping district purely operative to supply domestic water to colonies. Alternative arrangement is planned to supply domestic water and close the underground district. One hired HEMM patch started in September 2021 for seam no. VII, VIII, VIII A, VIIIC, X, XI, XII and
Evacuation of encroachers by JRDA scheme from mine leasehold area and acquisition of tenancy land are the major activities at
KANKANEE COLLIERY:
It has one opencast production unit operated by hired HEMM Patch basis. It’s all U/G parts are closed and sealed/covered at the surface. Presently two Hired HEMM patch awarded, one patch B for extraction of Coal from XIII, XIV and XV seams, another Hired HEMM patch D awarded for extraction of X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV and XV both patches are operative today.
LOYABAD COLLIERY:
At present, this UG mine is inoperative and only pumping work is in progress by submersible pump. The working of this colliery was stopped due to steep gradient unsuitable for SDL deployment. A tender for extraction of coal by mass production technology in MDO mode through revenue sharing model has been floated.
BANSDEOPUR COLLIERY:
Bansdeopur colliery is divided into two parts by 72 meter upthrow fault. Currently working is being done departmentally in XIII & XIV seams. X seam is fiery seam and will be dealt accordingly with fire- fighting techniques to extract coal from it after fully extraction from XIII & XIV seam.
SENDRA BANSJORA COLLIERY:
It has one opencast production unit operated on hired HEMM basis. At present IV, V/VI, VII, VIII/ VIII A and X seam are being extracted in this mine. It is a fiery mine and a lot of fire-fighting activities are carried out to deal with it.
Development Activities
UG part of this mine is now completely closed and waterlogged. A lot of fire prevention activities have been taken up under the guidance of CIMFR and DGMS to save Dhanbad-Chandrapura railway line which is threatened by fire. This DC railway track was stopped after 15th June, 2017 but now its operation resumed again. Nagri Jore, which is flowing over loose ground causing seepage of rain water to the mine is laid with semi-circular hume pipes for free flowing of water. Evacuation of encroachers
by JRDA scheme from mine leasehold area and shifting of one Shiv Mandir are the major activities at present.
TETULMARI COLLIERY:
It has one producing units namely Tetulmari OCP. TOCP is a departmental opencast mine on east side of Sijua – Rajganj Road. Opencast extraction is being done in VIII and VIIIA seam and backfilling with overburden. It has also two UG units namely MAP-3 Incline and PST-2 Incline where pumping operation is going on presently. In PST-2 Incline production process will be started shortly after obtaining working permission from DGMS.
NICHITPUR COLLIERY:
It has two production units Nichitpur OC (Deptt.) and Nichitpur OC (Hired). Opencast mining is being done with II seam as base of quarry. At present, only II and III seam is being worked in Nichitpur colliery in departmental and hired HEMM portions. Seam No. VIII, VII, VI/V, IV, III and II are present and presently coal is being extracted from seam no. V/VI, IV and III. No fire exists in this mine.
Development Activities
Evacuation of illegally encroached land on the S-E side is needed to extend the life of this mine and for extraction of IV, V/VI, VII, VIII/VIIIA seam in future. Also, evacuation of illegal hutments is needed for extension of present working of II and III seam.
Growth plan and future prospect of the area:
One Hired patch has been tendered at Tetulmari Colliery for extraction of 00 LMT of coal using blast-free technology (Ripper + Excavator)
One Hired patch has been estimated and proposed for approval for extraction of 65 LMT of coal at Tetulmari Colliery.
A tender for extraction of 25 Te. Of coal by mechanized UG through MDO mode for a period of 25 Years, adapting revenue sharing model has been floated. Date of opening of Tender- 20.08.2022.
One Hired Patch at Kankanee Colliery has been awarded for extraction of 85 Te of coal for a period of 07 Years. Expected to commence in current Financial Year.
One patch has been identified at the barrier of Nichitpur Colliery and Sendra Bansjora Colliery with an estimated quantity of 20 LMT of coal, which will be proposed after completion of operating Hired Patch, Sendra Bansjora Patch-X.
