Our Product
We produce various grades of coking coal, non-coking coal, and washed coal to cater to a wide range of industrial needs, including power, steel, cement, fertilizer, and glass manufacturing. Our coking coal, primarily used in the power sector due to its high ash content, and non-coking coal, which lacks coking properties, serve critical roles across multiple industries. Additionally, we produce washed coal, which has reduced ash content and is particularly suitable for use in steel making and power generation. Washed power coal, a by-product of coal washing, is also utilized for power generation and in various industrial plants. Our adaptability and responsible resource utilization enable us to meet the diverse requirements of multiple sectors while contributing to sustainable industrial growth and economic development. Incorporated in 1972, we were established to mine and supply coking coal from the Jharia coalfields in Jharkhand and the Raniganj coalfields in West Bengal. Over the years, we have significantly expanded our operations, with coal production increasing from 30.51 million tonnes in Fiscal 2022 to 40.50 million tonnes in Fiscal 2025, reflecting a growth of 32.74%. In Fiscal 2024 alone, we produced 39.11 million tonnes of coking coal and 1.99 million tonnes of non-coking coal, surpassing our previous records of coking coal production.
Our Products
Raw Coal
Coking Coal
Coking coal is a crucial raw material in steel production. When heated in the absence of air, it forms strong, porous, and coherent masses called Coke, which is free from volatile matter.
Key Features:
- Possesses excellent coking properties
- Produces strong coke for metallurgical use
Applications:
- Steel manufacturing
- Metallurgical industries
- Coke production
Non-Coking Coal
Non-coking coal does not have the properties required for coke formation. It is primarily used as a thermal coal.
Applications:
- Power generation (thermal plants)
- Cement, fertilizer, glass, ceramic, paper, chemical, and brick industries
- General heating purposes
Washery Products
Washed Coking Coal
Raw Coking Coal that has been processed to reduce impurities and improve overall quality is known as washed or beneficiated coal.
Features & Applications:
- The Most premium product of Coal washing process.
- Coke manufacturing for steel industry
Washed Power Coal
Washed Power Coal is the by-product of coal washing/beneficiation process.
Features & Applications:
- Consistent Size and Quality
- Power generation
- Domestic fuel plants
- Brick kilns
- Cement and industrial plants
Rejects & Slurry
Rejects and Slurry are also by-products from the coal beneficiation process
Features & Applications:
- Fuel for Fluidized Bed Combustion (FBC) boilers
- Brick kilns
- Briquette (domestic fuel) production
A. COKING COAL
Coking coal, also known as metallurgical coal possesses unique property of forming coke when heated in the absence of air at a temperature of 1030- 1060oC. Coke is a hard, porous substance essential for the blast furnace process in steelmaking. The classification of coking coal is based on ash content:
